Lot and lot of new groups are being called “new Hallyu” or “the future of Hallyu”, but only time will tell which ones can actually make it. I was hesitant to write about any of them, not too sure if I write about a craze that will not live long. K-pop Concert Coming to PyeongChang on October 2011
The Korea Tourism Organization said it will hold a K-pop concert on Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Alpensia Sky Jumping Special Stage in PyeongChang, Gangwon Province, to promote tourism there.
The city has been attracting growing attention from international travelers after winning the bid to host the 2018 Winter Olympics.
The KTO has collaborated with Gangwon Province, concert organizer Seoul Cheongwoo, Now Global C&C and Hana Tour International for the upcoming concert.
The show will gather representative K-pop groups, rock groups, ballad singers and rising artists. The lineup includes Girls’ Generation, Super Junior, Infinite, Boohwal, Kim Gun-mo, Baek Ji-young and Baek Cheong-gang.
About 12,000 tickets will be available for free, while 2,000 tickets will be allocated for overseas fans through tour packages, the KTO said. For more information visit here

L’s newest Japanese drama is hurricane popular!
Seven-member Korean group INFINITE’s L currently stars in a new Japanese drama “Jiu” and is receiving much popularity and success! Although the drama was allocated with a midnight time slot airing time, the first episode received a 9.4% rating and then shot to 10% rating for its second episode, topping the rating for the time slot.
