Park Shin-hye Receives Popular Star Award in China


Actress Park Shin-hye won a popular Asian star award at the 1st LeTV Movie and Drama Awards in Beijing on Friday.

The winners of the awards hosted by China’s largest film and drama site LeTV were selected by the votes of 10 million netizens and a panel of judges consisting of Chinese directors, actors and actresses.

Park rose to the crest of the Korean Wave through the drama “You’re Beautiful,” in which she co-starred with another Korean Wave star, Jang Keun-suk, in 2009.

Park Shin Hye is nominated for Female Popularity Award in China


On August 26, actress Park Shin Hye was nominated for Female Populairty Award at the awards ceremony 2011 LETV Movies & TV Series Awards Ceremony, held in China.

Nominees of 2011 LETV Movies & TV Series Awards Ceremony were voted by numerous Chinese directors, judges, actors, actresses, and 10 million netizens.

Famous celebrities from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong such as Cecilia Cheung, Nick Cheung, Donnie Yen, Jiro Wang, and renown directors participated in the event, where Park Shin Hye was nominated for Female Popularity Award as a representative celebrity from Korea. She was nicknamed, “The Hallyu Queen.”

Park Shin Hye also drew attention with her seductive black dress, which revealed her entire back. On the stage she spoke in fluent Chinese, “I am honored to be invited to such a grand ceremony as this, and furthermore to be given an award. I will be a hard working actress in the future. Thank you.”

The awards ceremony was rebroadcasted countless times online through LETV and hundreds of other media.
